In order to satisfy federal requirements for operation on city streets, all NEVs must be equipped with three-point seat belts, windshields with wipers, running lights, headlights, brake lights, reflectors, rear view mirrors, and turn signals. They must be registered while the driver must be licensed and in most cases insured. Because airbags do not come equipped NEVs cannot travel on highways or freeways and operation is limited to streets with posted speed limits of 35 mph and under.
All of the Tomberlin E-Merge vehicles come standard with everything federally required to be classified as a low-speed vehicle. These vehicles are actually issued VINs, much like your automobile, so registration and titling works in the exact same fashion.
